Shopping on a Sunday

Not much shopping today, due to the flood a d NFL season opener for the Cowboys. I made it to CVS. I bought a colgaye toothpaste at 2.99 and two boxes of cheerios at 2/6.00. I used 1.75 worth of coupons, a 4$ extra buck, so out of pocket I spent 3.74. I also got four extra bucks back. No money maker, but a good day. You can find the whole list of goodies at www.iheartcvs.com. Let me know what you found!

Cvs trip

I finally made it back to CVS. I was out of extra bucks, so I started all over- not a bad trip, though. I had a 4/20 from my email so my trip was:

Two degree deodorants that were 2/15, then I had two 2$ off coupons. I also bought two Aussie styling products @2.99 each, minus two 1$ off coupons-

Spent 12$ out of pocket and earned 9 extra bucks, pretty good way to start over! Let me know how you did!

Menu planning

One of my best money saving tips is menu planning- this one simple step is a lifesaver. I make my menus based on what I have in my pantry and what is on sale. I also am following weight watchers, so I am using a lot of their recipes. And yes, it is possible to eat healthy for less. Here is my menu for the week:

Monday: sandwiches after softball game madness.
Tuesday: mexican dip: taco meat, corn, rotel tomatoes, refried beans and tortillas
Wednesday: crockpot chicken with broccoli and cauliflower
Thursday: turkey burgers with ww fries.

If you menu plan, please leave a link!

The last one I got was 2.50 off a Bounce Dryer bar and 4 1.00 off coupons. Definitely worth your time!

Trying again

Ok, I know I've said numerous times I am back, but this time I am going to try and make it work. It helps me stay on track and help my family, and hopefully I can help others along the way.

So here we go! My coupons are a mess after Kroger double coupon day yesterday- I got 80 dollars of groceries for 8 bucks :D Yippee Kroger! I hope they do that more often- the manager yesterday said that they were looking to do this once a quarter. It was great!

So I am going to blog on Shopping on a Sunday and will try to blog two other days a week. I am also going to link to CVS, Walgreens (grrrrr), and Target and any other amazing deals that I stumble upon during the week. I may also come on to ramble on occasion!

Hope everyone has a great Sunday,

Shopping on a Sunday!

I am back! School is out so I will be posting more deals more often.

This has been a good savings week. At target, you can still get free bbq sauce, with your 1.00 Kraft printable. You can also get free Crystal light. Use the coupons from coupons.com or kraft.com, they are several for 1.00 off of 1, 2.00 off of 2. You can use these coupons on the 3 packs at the endcaps by several registers.

I also went to Walmart today and used my 1.50 off of kraft dressings to buy 3 bottles of Italian dressing for marinades at a whopping purchase of .32 cents! Yippee.

Today also marked my return to CVS. I did the Dove soap deal, and the toilet paper. I spent 3.00 out of pocket, bought 8 deodorants, a large toilet paper bag, and a newspaper for the week. Not a bad day of shopping!

Thursday

Parents in town!

Friday:

Not the healthiest of weeks, but still, better than fast food!

Shopping on a Sunday

Not much shopping this week, I was able to get to costco and stock up on meat and chicken,so I'm using up some of my stockpile. I will post my menu tomorrow as I join MenuPlanning Monday from OrgJunkie.

However, there are a few unbelievable deals out there.

At target.com, you can print 1$ off artisan breads and many loaves are only 99 cents! I have 6 free loaves of bread! Woohoo! I got this off of Deal Seeking Mom's website.

Also, follow this link : http://coupons.smartsource.com/WEB/index.aspx?act=printCoupons&firsttime=true&SessionID=91a4db5b-bca9-4e28-aecd-c96033795847 and you will get a 4.00 off pace coupon. Pace is cheaper than this, so it's free! Or a moneymaker. This is from Erica at IHEARTCVS's twitter page.

So today I went to target, bought one large pace at 2.99, one buddy bar, and 3 loaves of bread. Final price: free :)

At Kroger I bought two pace's, one gentle care wipe, a box of poptarts, and a paper. Used two 4.00 off coupons for the pace, one 5.00 off any gentle care product and kroger actually gave me 18 cents back, what a great day of shopping!

Shopping on A Sunday

All of the coupon links are up on the blogs on the right hand side of my blog, I personally enjoy Mommy Snacks, but go back and forth to all of them. Let me know if there is a store you can't find.

Here is my shopping on a sunday, no pics since my sweet husband has already put everything up! I only did the drugstores and a run into target- I am trying to use up some of my stockpile- I am trying to use some of the grocery money this week to help pay for a FCA cookout for my school.

CVS

1 Transaction-I know, only one :)

3 boxes of cheerios at 3/10.00 Used Manufacturer coupons 1/3, .55/1, .55/1
2 boxes of Garnier Fructis Hair Color, 2/10 Used Manufacturer coupons 2/1, 2/1
1 Diet 7 up

Total before coupons: 21.49
Total after coupons: 16.66
Pait with 16.00 Extra Bucks, earned 10 back
I burned a few extra bucks, but Justin loves the Cheerios Out of Pocket, 66 cents!

Walgreens:
4 different transactions,
1st Transaction: 3 packages of size 2 diapers at 10.00 a pack, one Garnier Fructis Hair products
33.00 before coupons, used 3 5/1 for the diapers, a 1/1 for the Garnier and an IVC coupon (walgreens) for the garnier, total out of pocket was 16.23, then earned ten dollars in register rewards. So for 6.23, got 3 packs of diapers and a hair product.

Transactions 2, 3 and 4 consisted of one garnier fructis product using the same coupons above and a 50 cent candy since the garnier rang up at .01 refund back to me and Walgreens wouldn't clear it. I will use the candy for Justin's lunch

At Target I spent 6.00, none of it amazing deals, bought some bread, frozen fries and taco seasoning to help stretch the weeks meals.

Total spent oop this week: 12.83 plus 10.00 for a package of hamburger meat at costco. Total spent on groceries : 22.83! WooHoo! Let me know how you did!

Walgreens

I received an email from a lurker asking why I don't enjoy Walgreens. I do sometimes shop there, but rarely. I have a very hard time getting the cashiers to take coupons, or my register rewards to print out. I also once received a messed up gift card from their rebate system and had a very hard time getting it replaced. In my personal experience, CVS is just much more coupon friendly.

Tell me your thoughts lurkers. Any bad luck stories with CVS or Walgreens?

Depressing Post Alert

It's not fair. How come my Dad can't get well. I called him today and their home phone is turned off. He said it's because they had to pay 10 grand just to see a doctor tomorrow to do a clinical trial where he might get a drug. Ridiculous. At the same time, Justin's mom had one surgery and is now expected to be cancer free. My dad has had 3 surgeries 6 rounds of horrible immunotherapy and still isn't any better. I know I don't understand God's perfect plan, but right now it blows. My dad is the most caring, honest amazing man I have ever met-why is this crap happening to him. He's been fighting this cancer for 14 months. Originally his Doctor said if they couldn't kill it he had 18 months to live. I try not to think about it, as long as he is home, in my head he is well. I hate that I don't live closer to him to be able to see him and spend as much time with him as I can. I just want him to be well and not hurt anymore. I want to hurry up and have a grandchild so that he can be a grandad in case he keeps getting worse, but even that I can't make happen. I feel so helpless I don't know what to do. I know we're supposed to give these things over to God and not worry, just pray but right now it's pretty damn hard.

Sorry for the vent, I will try to post some deals tomorrow. It's been a slow shopping week.

Shopping on Sunday

Ok, so I am not grocery shopping this week, but I will post my CVS trip later on today. I am definitely using my 3/15!

However, you can find the links to kroger on www.mommysnacks.net for Kroger and target and walmart should be up later.

Also, today is the first of the month, so that means coupons.com has new coupons. There are some really good ones- .55 off of cheerios ( a staple for the hubby) and a 5.00 and a 3.00 off Huggies diapers at www.coupons.com. Yes, I buy diapers, even though I don't have a child. I have a very extensive baby stockpile set up, so that one day if we are blessed with a child, we will be prepared. Hold onto those Huggies coupons until March 8th and Walgreens will be having a sale where you buy 25.00 worth of Huggies products and get 10.00 in register rewards! Woohoo!

Savings on a Sunday

Here is what I saved today:

If you go to www.slickdeals.net you can find a way to save 15$ off any purchase at jcpenney. I purchased a 2.00 bra :) Yeah me, I think if you have children you can really save a lot. Again slick deals has the codes, basically you combine 5.00 and a 10.00 off code.

Walgreens has free foil, there was a coupon in the paper for 1.00 off and on coupons.com, so free foil!

That's about it today, I did my grocery shopping yesterday. I did all the meals for the week and snacks and spent 71.00, including stocking up on 3 venus razors. There were 2.00 coupons off in the paper combined with the 3.00 target coupon and it made the razors 2.99 , not free, but not bad either. I think CVS is sexist and has better deals on men's razors than women's, which is annoying, but I will not complain about my favorite store. Leave a comment and let me know how you do today! Good luck!

CVS Week of 2/22-2/28

Erica at www.Iheartcvs.com has this week's cvs ad up. I don't see anything too exciting for me and I rolled my ECB's last week on the diet coke deal - 6 packs of diet cokes, two laundry soaps and all kinds of goodies for 7 bucks OOP! Let me know if you find any good deals!

Target

Ok, so the last two times I went to Target, I received a 5$ off 50$ coupon, not shabby for my favorite store! Also, I just read today on DealSeekingMom, that you can print Target coupons in the store, great for people like myself who always forget their coupon! Plus, Target coupons can be stacked with manufacturer coupons for even greater savings.

Today I bought an iron for my expanding sewing career, ha ha and 8 heads of broccoli-- the broccoli was only 4.00! I plan on using it to make soup and casseroles that I can freeze! TGIF Everyone!

Cheap Crocs!

Finish Line has clearance croc shoes starting at 4.98, in both kids and adult sizes. I'm a big fan! This is really cheap considering retail is 29-39.99. I believe shipping is 7.95 for the first pair and two dollars for every pair after that. Makes for a pretty cheap pair of crocs! Perfect for old lady swim class :)

Freebie Alert!

Just got an email from Walgreen's-Tomorrow only, 20 free 4x6 prints from Walgreens when you order online and use the coupon code oneday! Good luck and let me know if it works for you!

Hello Blogland!

Hi, my name is Amanda and I am starting a new blog, because, well, let's face it, there just aren't enough!

Seriously however, this blog is going to be a mixture of advice on how to be frugal, insights to sales, specials great coupons and a few stories/regular features this week. I am a wife, not yet a mother, but hopefully one day and I am working with my husband to help pay off all of our stupid credit card debt, etc and one way I am helping is with being a frugal shopper. I hope this blog helps you do the same. Please email me if you find a tip or have a question and I hope you enjoy!
